History has shown us that cultural diversity can be a fruitful source of innovation and adaptation. The travelers along the great trade routes via land and sea led to the exchange of learning and ideas.

Globalization is not a recent phenomenon. It has been going on for centuries, and as a result we know that diversity can bring colour, creativity and variety to our lives, communities and organizations.

We also know that globalization can bring about a greying of cultural diversity and domination by some cultures over others, economically, socially and politically.
